AngelFall

                                                                         *5 star's*

{It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.
Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.}

Captivating and Elegantly Written.... The two things that I think of when I read this book.
Angel Fall had me hooked from the first page. Maybe even the first sentence "Ironically, since the attacks, the sunsets have be glorious."
Like come on who writes the first word of a book and thinks 'Ironically" would be a good choice? Susan Lee does and for that I have total and utter respect for her.
Susan drew her readers in with a hook, line and sinker. She gave us small details that had us coming back for more.
For an 'Angel' book it was unique and well developed. I loved the plot line and all the characters. Each had their own personality that you could really distinctly see. Not many authors can write a book and have all their characters become real people in the readers eyes.
The scene layout was easy to imagine. Susan threw us into a world we are all very familiar with and made it our worst nightmare. It was terrifying but completely breath taking.
If you like dystopian books with a bit of Angels thrown in, this is your new read.
Get ready for a new and exciting world...

The Fill In Boyfriend

The Fill In Boyfriend...
3 1/2 stars (almost 4 stars)

*When Gia Montgomery's boyfriend, Bradley, dumps her in the parking lot of her high school prom, she has to think fast. After all, she'd been telling her friends about him for months now. This was supposed to be the night she proved he existed. So when she sees a cute guy waiting to pick up his sister, she enlists his help. The task is simple: be her fill-in boyfriend—two hours, zero commitment, a few white lies. After that, she can win back the real Bradley.*

Gosh this book was adorable. I haven't stayed up till three in the morning because of reading in so long. I am so going to regret it in the morning though :P

This story started off smack bang in the middle of a scene which instantly made you intrigued. You were able to find out about our main character Gia by the first few sentences and had a great idea of the story within the first chapter.
The story plot line was simple but it was just right. Kasie West knows how to give a simple and over used plot line a new and exciting twist.

Gia was flawed but wanted to be perfect which made you relate to her on so many different levels, Hayden though was perfect but thought he was flawed. (boys *rolls eyes*)
The relationships in this story were engaging and easy to understand. From siblings, friends, enemies and even 'lovers' you learnt more about them and the effect they had on Gia with each new chapter and the connection with Gia and Hayden was real. It didn't feel forced or like insta-love. It wasn't too corny or ironic it was just natural.

I am sure most people would of read this book and thought it wasn't good. (I don't think I will ever be able to find a book that everyone agrees is great) But I really liked it. I was so invested in the story line that I couldn't put it down and read it in 3 1/2 hours. If you are looking for a contemporary that has great characters and just as fantastic writing then be sure to give this one a shot :)

Have a good day/night. I am going to get some much needed sleep.
Happy reading xx

December Wrap Up

December wrap up and New year book resolutions.

                                                                   Instagram,

So I didn’t even realise how good of a reading month I had until I went back on goodreads and saw how many books I read. I read 11 books :o

Because there are so many to get through I am just going to get started.

I started off the month with finishing off… A Court of Thornes and Roses - Sarah J Mass 5/5 stars. Oh my goodness this book was incredible. I read it just after going to the Sarah J Mass book signing which was even better because I was all excited about it. But the writing and characters were fantastic and I thought it was the perfect retelling of Beauty and the Beast. So well done Sarah *clapping Emoji*

Next is a fun book that took me a day to read. On the Fence - Kasie West. 3 1/2 /5 stars.
I loved this book as a perfect contemporary read. It had my favourite love story (the brothers best friend falls in love with the sister) Perfect for a day on the beach read.

To continue with contemporary genre The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight - Jennifer E Smith 3/5 stars
I thought this one wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. I thought the love story was a bit lacking and unrealistic. I’m not a massive fan of instalove and this is what happened. But it was cute and I liked the whole panic attack part of the story. I thought that was well told and I suffer from attacks so I related to that part.

I finally got around to reading the third book of The Mortal Instruments. City of Glass - Cassandra Clare 4 1/2 /5 stars.
The only word I can think of is WOW. Like yeah. SO much happened in this book it was amazing. I loved the new characters we were introduced to and the old ones it was nice seeing everyone grow as the story progressed. I can’t wait to read the others but I really want the boxset so it might be a little while.

I picked up a $9 book at Kmart Until Friday Night - Abbi Glines 3/5 stars.
I didn’t have any expectations when going into this book. I just wanted something easy to read while through the busy period of work. But it was really good. I was highly impressed. I thought the story line was believable and unique and I enjoyed the characters and their own back stories.

Christmas time! My christmas reads were Let it Snow - John Green (others) 3/5 stars and Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares Rachel Cohn 3 1/2 /5 stars
Both perfect to get you in the christmas spirit!

I was so pumped to get into this next one. It was sitting on my shelves for a couple of months but I wanted to read it all in one sitting so when I went away it was perfect. Invasion of the Tearling - Erika Johansen 5/5 stars
Just perfect! Like honestly this book was fantastic. Don’t get me wrong it was slightly confusing with the swapping between worlds, But I really enjoyed Lily’s story line it gave us a break from the intensity of the Tearling. I loved how Kelsey changed. There was a part of me that loved the change and then also a part that hated it but wonderfully written and the end… OMG that end :o

After that intense rollercoaster I wanted something that I didn’t need to think too much about. Girl Online On Tour - Zoe Sugg 3/5 stars.
Now I love Zoe Sugg. I think she is awesome and I love her youtube so going into this second book already knowing that the first was just okay I wasn’t expecting much but I was going to like it anyway because it was Zoe Sugg. Did anyone else feel this way? It was quite enjoyable though.
Totally cliche and corner but cute…

My next too I am wanting to do a whole post when I finish the end of the series but Obsidian and Onxy - Jennifer L Armentrout 4/5 stars.
The first book gave me similar feeling to when I read Twilight. That bad boy who wants to hate her but really likes her blah blah blah. But those feelings hit me with full force and I loved it! I haven’t read a paranormal romance in so long and it was much needed. I’ll say more about it soon though ;)

So that was my month in review. All the books were fun and I am so shocked/amazed that I read so many considering how much I worked in December but I’m happy! :)

New year Resolutions…

I don’t have many resolutions for 2016. I have set my goodreads goal at 30 books. It’s not many at all but I have my first year of uni this year and I really want to work on my book so I am not going to push it. The only other goal would be to read more new releases and keep on top of new books.
I also want to keep going with this blog. So I hope to publish a new post every Friday and my Instagram of course I love and can’t wait to see where that leads me. I have already met so many amazing people from there and would love to connect with even more!

Sorry this post was so long, but until next week. Happy reading xx
